Résultats de l’enquête STOP-ARTHROSE 2021. Les patients arthrosiques ont besoin de changements dans leur prise en charge
RésuméAprès l’enquête STOP-ARTHROSE de 2013, l’Aflar (Association française de lutte antirhumatismale) et la Fondation Arthrose (Belgique) ont réévalué l’état de santé et le ressenti des patients arthrosiques. Dans ce but, ces associations ont réalisé une enquête en ligne dénommée « STOP-ARTHROSE II » entre septembre 2019 et janvier 2021. Les questions portaient sur les données démographiques et socio-économiques, l’histoire de la maladie, l’activité physique, les croyances sur l’arthrose, son incidence dans la vie de tous les jours, l’évaluation de l’état de santé et les conséquences que la maladie engendre ainsi que les besoins et attentes des répondants. 3 465 questionnaires ont ainsi été récoltés et analysés. Les grandes conclusions de cette enquête étaient : 1) L’arthrose représente un véritable fardeau qui altère la santé mentale des patients, leurs relations avec les autres et la qualité de leur sommeil. 2) Presque neuf patients sur dix considéraient que la douleur était la répercussion de l’arthrose la plus difficile à vivre. 3) Ces résultats confortent et sont très proches des résultats de l’enquête STOP-ARTHROSE I de 2013. 4)La pandémie Covid-19 n’a pas altéré le statut algofonctionnel, le moral et l’état général des participants sauf pendant la période de confinement strict. 5) Les patients déclaraient manquer d’informations sur la maladie et souhaitaient une meilleure prise en charge de leur arthrose. Une fois de plus cette enquête met en évidence l’effet important de l’arthrose sur la qualité de vie et la santé des patients et la mauvaise prise en charge de cette maladie par les professionnels de santé. |
AbstractResults of STOP-ARTHROSE survey. After the 2013 STOP-ARTHROSE survey, AFLAR (Association française de lutte anti-rhumatismale) and The Osteoarthritis Foundation reassessed the state of health and feelings of patients with osteoarthritis. In this purpose, these associations carried out an online survey called «STOP-ARTHROSE II» between September 2019 and January 2021. The questions related to demographic and socio-economic data, the history of the disease, physical activitiy, beliefs about osteoarthritis, its impact on everyday life, the evaluation of the state of health and the consequences it generates, as well as the needs and expectations of respondents. 3.465 questionnaires were thus collected and analyzed. The main conclusions of this survey were: 1) Osteoarthritis represents a real burden which affects the mental health of patients, their relationships with others and the quality of their sleep; 2) Almost 9 out of 10 patients considered pain to be the most difficult impact of osteoarthritis to live with; 3) These results confirmed and were very close to the results of the 2013 STOP-ARTHROSE I survey; 4) The Covid-19 pandemic did not alter the algo-functional status, morale and general condition of the participants except during the period of strict confinement; 5) Finally, patients said they lacked information about the disease and wanted better management of their osteoarthritis. Once again, this survey highlights the significant impact of osteoarthritis on the quality of life and health of patients and the poor management of this disease by health professionals. |
